ABOUT YOUR PRIVACY
What information is used, and why?
This page explains how searches work, technical access logs and the information you share when you email us.
AT A GLANCE
- No account is needed to look up a postal code.
- Search runs in your browser.
- The current site has no advertising or analytics tracking code.
Search and site use
You can use the guide without registering. The site has no account, payment or address-saving feature. You do not need to provide your name, telephone number or full home address to search.
Place and postal code searches run in your browser. Search files are downloaded from this site; your query is not sent to a separate search service. If you open a link containing a query, the information in that URL reaches the server as part of the normal page request. Avoid entering personal or confidential information in search.
Cookies, local storage and tracking
The current application does not set cookies for advertising or visitor analytics and does not store your search history in cookies or local storage. Fonts and icons are loaded from the site’s own files.
Your browser may cache files to load pages faster. This file cache does not create a user profile containing your searches.
The copy button uses your browser’s clipboard capability only to write the selected postal code. The site does not read other clipboard contents.
Technical access logs
Browser-based search does not mean connections create no technical records. The web server may record access information such as IP address, request time, page URL, browser information and response status. Links with query parameters may also appear in these records.
These records may be used to operate the service, investigate connection problems and maintain security. Hosting or security infrastructure may keep its own technical logs. This explanation is reviewed when the publishing infrastructure changes.
When you email us
If you write to [email protected], your email address and the information in your message may be processed to communicate with you and review your report. Email transmission and storage take place through the email service in use.
A locality name and page link are enough to report a postal code correction. Do not send unnecessary personal information such as an identity document, payment details or your home address.
Contact the same email address with privacy questions or requests about a message you have sent. Using “Privacy” in the subject helps us identify the topic.
Changes to this policy
If communication, analytics or advertising services are added, this page will be updated to reflect actual use. For privacy questions, use the contact page.
